Spin Doctor filtered out the scratches satisfactorily but I haven't been able to do the same with Toast. So now I can either record each side of an album as one long song or break them out into separate songs and learn to live with the reprise. Then I was told to remove everything again and use the provided link to download the program from a dropbox they put it in. The solution they offered was to remove the program and all the plists from the Preference list, then reinstall Toast. When I play back the songs, every one of them has a 10-20 second reprise of the beginning of the song just ended. I can separate songs from an album but they go into iTunes in alphabetical order so I have to rearrange them having already done so in Audio Assist. Toast Audio Assistant is a pain in the neck to use on my Mac. I got Toast 14 because Spin Doctor is defunct. The El Capitan update you will need to do via the Roxio Toast website it wont work from inside the application. Everybody who has been on OSX a while knows that. I bought Toast 14 just purely for burning DVD's/ BluRay's/CD's and backup data discs. Wondershare Ultimate Video Converter is the best way to go for that in my opinion I own both so its no bother to me at all. Recording from video sharing sites like Youtube and Vimeo is not exactly straight forward and intuitive. You already own a screen capture function on your Mac in Apple Quicktime that even records your mobile screen if your using an iPhone that is plugged in. There are online tutorials to explain the how to's of even the most basic touch-ups and edits so I would not even bother going there. If you have Adobe Photoshop/ Lightroom or similar then you really don't need the other junk. Roxio Toast 14 still remains the go to application for Mac OSX users to burn DVD's and BluRay(With the extra $20 plugin) in my opinion. There are a lot of YouTube examples but there are many generations of Toast and they are different so most examples are no good. After you click on a button, you have to hit "return" on your keyboard before anything happens. This should be mentioned on the box somewhere or stated in the software when you start it. ![]() It took me a few weeks of searching online to discover that the manual is buried in the help menu in the program. Toast doesn't come with a manual or quick user guide just the software disk in a large box. I use a MAC and use iMovie to do most all I need. It can capture a video playing on your computer monitor by doing a continuous screen dump, but all open windows that appear on your monitor are copied at the same time. It does not download videos from the internet. There are other ways to do some of this using the OS software that you already have. This takes video that you have in a folder or camcorder and can put it on a DVD. ![]()
